About

My name is Degan Walters (she/her), the lady behind this site and these updates. I have recently started the transition from a corporate career into the field of mental health, and am currently a graduate student of counselling psychology.

I’ve been writing on again and off again on the internet since 2001 and in that time I have accumulated a handful of blogs, plus somewhere near a thousand blog posts, but these days I write only for myself and this space is meant to be a catchall for my ramblings and readings, photographs, artwork and whatever else I have going on.

My personal mission is to live a fulfilled and happy life, full of adventure and to leave every place better than I found it and my preferred vehicles of choice for that work are deep connections, intense organization and working my ass off.

I am deeply grateful to be born on these lands & honoured for the opportunity to live, work, play, and learn on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of the Coast Salish people; xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), səl̓ilwətaɁɬ təməxʷ (Tsleil Waututh),  s’ólh Téméxw (Stó:lō) and sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) peoples

If you have found yourself here, welcome…make yourself at home. Degan is pronounced like Megan. Anything else you want to know, drop me a line – degan@deganwalters.com.
